Macedonia
This is the Macedonian Flag. After a night in Istanbul we flew to Skopje and rented this little car to drive to Lake Ohrid for a few days. After a few hours drive through beautiful green farms and mountains we made it to the town of Lake Ohrid... and eventually found our way through the narrow widing streets to our hotel at the bottom of the hill on the lake shore...this is the view from our balcony...Church of St. John at Kaneo ...

Archeological dig at the church of... site of a 4th century basilica. We drove our little car to the top of Mt. .... to look at the view of both lakes from the top...After seeing the Monastery of St. Naum complete with super old church...and peacocks! It was a very relaxing few days and with wonderful food. Featured here is the Macedonian salad and local olives.

Istanbul, Turkey
On the way to America this summer we had an overnight in Istanbul. Never ones to let an opportunity go to waste we checked out how Sultanamet had changed since we were there in 1997.

Goodbye to Good Friends
It is part of our life that we regularly say goodbye to good friends. However, this year we had to say goodbye to two sets of dear friends as they moved on to new adventures.
We had a party at our house for Brad and Emily...

Hold this space for a photo of Priscilla and Larry at their goodbye party...

Mel's Book Club Felucca This is our annual felucca (sail boat on the Nile) where we vote on our choices for the coming school year.

Horse Riding After School Activity
One of the students attended every single lesson of every session and was able to jump by the end!
This is the last session that I will be doing as I am moving on to a new full time job that does not fit in with the schedule so I will miss the chance to get out and be with the kids and horses each week.
